Current GRE (Through summer 2007) |
New GRE (Starting from Fall 2007) |
Computer Adaptive Test (CAT). In CAT the questions are based on the performance of the previous question. So
if you get a simple question correct then your next question will be a bit difficult than the previous one and vice versa. So the question pool
for each test taker is different. |
Computer Based Test (CBT). CBT are linear examinations where the question pool is the same. So all the test takers will
get the same questions on a particular day. |
The current GRE is designed for 2 1/2 hours |
The new GRE would be much longer than the current version. It is expected that the time span would be more than 4 hours. |
The current GRE can be taken on most weekdays and weekends. It is mostly year-around. |
Approximately 30 fixed days per year. |
| The current GRE costs $115 |
| It is definitely going to be more costlier. |
